        报告题目：Mathematical models of competition of phytoplankton species for light in a water column

        报告摘要：In this talk we first present analytic results of a mathematical model of n-phytoplankton species competing for light in a well-mixed water column. The model takes a form of nonlinear ODE. Then we investigate a mathematical model of two phytoplankton species competing for light in a poorly mixed water column. The model takes a form of nonlocal reaction-diffusion system.

        报告人简介: 许世壁博士毕业于美国University of Iowa，现在是SIAM Fellow，研究方向为生物数学和动力系统，已经在J.Math.Biol, J.Differential Equations, SIAM J.Appl.Math等国际著名期刊发表学术论文93篇，引用率达969次。1987-1990年任台湾清华大学应用数学研究所所长，1998-2004年, 任理学院院长。
