应西安交通大学数学与统计学院邀请,南洋理工大学数学与物理学院(SPMS)教授王德生老师将于6月22日来我院作学术报告。
报告题目:Tri-perspectival Mathematical Epistemology and Cognition with an application to VR based Linear Algebra Instruction

摘要:
The talk starts with a triad of mathematical ontology, epistemology and cognition. The triad is discussed in a triune perspectival manner: contrast/identification, variation and distribution which can also be interpreted in another triad: particle, wave and field from the fields of both physics and linguistics. The multi-perspectival understanding offers us insights into the nature of mathematical objects and mathematical learning, with a focus on the construction of mathematical knowledge structure in the minds of learners. All of these significantly contributes to effective mathematics instructions. As an exemplar application, virtual reality based linear algebra teaching is outlined to illustrate the innovation of the proposed methodology and ideology for mathematics instruction: course design and implementations.
报告人个人简介
王德生教授2001年在中国科学院数学和系统科学研究所获博士学位。先后在FEGEN Soft. Ltd., 中国科学院数学和系统科学研究所,University of Wales Swansea从事博士后或访问学者研究,2005年到南洋理工大学工作。主要研究领域为网格生成和数值模拟。
