报告题目:Entropy Functions on Faces of the Polymatroidal Region

报告摘要:
Characterization of entropy functions is of fundamental importance in information theory. By imposing constraints on their Shannon outer bound, i.e., the polymatroidal region, one obtains the faces of the region and entropy functions on them with special structures, which have applications into information theoretic problems such as probabilistic conditional independence, secret-sharing, network coding and so on.
In this talk, we first introduce the background of entropy function characterization and information inequalities, and then the characterization of entropy functions on the faces of the polymatroidal region. Combinatorial design structures such as Latin-hyper cubes, orthogonal arrays, and their generalizations are utilized in the characterization.
报告人简介:
陈琦,西安电子科技大学副教授,博士生导师。2014年毕业于香港中文大学,获信息工程学博士学位。之后留校从事博士后,期间于美国Drexel 大学访问。2018年加入西安电子科技大学。陈琦博士的研究兴趣为信息论,特别是熵区域的刻画以及相关信息论和数学问题。
